THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN AT THECRUISECHEF.

The website was founded by two generations of world-travelers: Bob Linde, veteran boater, travel writer and gourmet cook, and Shirley Linde, well-known author of 37 books. The mother and son combination's love of traveling and sailing has taken them to cruising all over the world, and enjoying the food there. Some of the travel books they have written or worked on are The World's Most Exciting Cruises, The World's Most Intimate Cruises, Great Voyages of the World, and Windows to the World (International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association).

Bob LindeBob Linde, a founder, is an avid sailor. While running the recreation department for the University of South Florida, he developed courses in navigation, advanced sailing, and canoeing. As a travel writer he has visited unique destinations such as the Peruvian Amazon, Northern European waterways, and the Galapagos Islands, just to name a few. Bob spent 5 years in the US Army, including 3 years in Europe and 6 months on the front lines of Desert Storm. He has also worked as a counselor for troubled youths, a commercial fisherman and Greenpeace activist. He is currently interning in Chinese traditional medicine, and has an extensive herb garden for medicinals as well as his creative cooking.

Shirley LindeShirley Linde, editor of TheCruiseChef.com and of SmallShipCruises.com, is a best-selling author whose books have been translated into languages around the world. She has written both on science and on travel, is author of 37 books, including several on the NY Times best-seller list. Some of the books she has authored or co-authored are No More Sleepless Nights, No More Snoring, Dr. Atkins' Superenergy Diet, The Whole Health Catalogue, The Charleston Weight-Loss Program, The World’s Most Intimate Cruises, and The Insiders' Guide to the World's Most Exciting Cruises.
